Comes will full ball of jute string on the spindle. The string then threads through the loop at the top and unrolls with use, so no more searching for the loose end. The (permanently really sharp) iron scissors hang from their little hook when not in use - put them back after each use and you'll always know where they are! The holder, being cast iron, is heavy and very stable and will therefore not topple over when being used.
